Services available through the AFIRS 228 include SATCOM voice, global flight tracking, two way text messaging (iPad, MCDU), aircraft health monitoring including engine trending, engine/airframe exceedances, real- time engine data analytics, fuel management, real-time flight data management, ACARS over Iridium, as well as live black box streaming capabilities.

A separate Aircraft Configuration Module contains the SIM card, system configuration information and user-stored information making the AFIRS 228 a true line replaceable unit offering maximum fleet management optimization and reducing maintenance and spares costs. 

The AFIRS 228 has extensive and expandable interface capabilities that allow it to connect to numerous aircraft systems and comes complete with a built in QAR. This flexibility gives you the ability to tailor your data set to meet your specific business needs.
